Stupid frequency doubler,that only works with one frequency but nonetheless explain how a simple fixed-frequency doubler can be made. Alternatively,frequency multiplier are made with a combination of flip-flops and PLL or FLL. More on that on Wikipedia ;)

It does work with other frequencies you just need to modify the c and l for that freq

Sure,but nobody can make it and once built up pretend to change the components...if it was made with a,let's say, johnson counter and a PLL it would automatically multiply the frequency regardless of the input one.
