Lower zig- zag is periscope with mirrors not shown. Many toy periscopes are available. Line voltage lamp is mounted to top of periscope as add-on to allow you to visually inspect where the sun doesn't shine as inside barrels, tubes, pipes, or cramped equipment areas.
