A high pass filter filters out low frequencies while allowing high frequencies through.
We can do this using either a capacitor or an inductor.
With a capacitor: At high frequencies, the capacitors impedance is low, allowing current through. At low frequencies, the impedance is high, blocking current.
With a inductor: At high frequencies, the inductor's impedance is high, blocking current from going to ground. The impedance drops as frequency drops, allowing current to pass through.
