If the circuit was tidy the simple mistake would be more evident. After the circuit is fixed, to allow the diodes to conduct increase the voltage, start low (try 10v) increase the capacitor to smooth the waveform, start at low (try 47uf) see what happens when it is increased, up to about 1mf.
