When you close the switches the leds go boom. Too much umph

Yes. I know, but you not have to close two switches i one moment

Maciejo, you can use logics gates for the leds not boom

Try use "SPDT switch". conect it on node "out" of 555, and conect the top node of SPDT on the 2 first switch and use the bottom node to ligth all leds. Sorry my bad english😎
