Ua723 is a voltage regulator Ic with advanced short circuit protection circuitry and current limiting and many other features. Provides excellent stabilisation at 150mA max which can be extended to however you need it with an external transistor. In this case the input ripples are over 7Vpk-pk and the output ripples are down to <1mVpk-pk. Efficiency is variable as it is with all linear regulators.
