I would flip the orientation of the npn transistor... Gate of mosfet to collector of npn transistor .

NPN transistor is backwards. The emitter goes to ground, and collector goes to the gate of the MOSFET.

Is the bjt really necessary? You should be able to drive the MOSFET directly.
