This probably is the simplest circuit that you have ever seen, but I think the idea behind it is cool: the ac current source represents a microphone, then the signal is amplified through a transistor and then goes to the LEDs. It is designed to follow the beat of the music you're playing for example during a party and I think it's nice

Putting these many LEDs in parallel might be taff.
