You can use this circuit to detect a certain voltage value. Either below 3v or above 4 2v. The 4.2v source is the signal to monitor. Another name for this circuit is a Window Comparator. And you did a nice job👍. I would like to add that this is not hysteresis behavior, though. Hysteresis is when two thresholds are used to obtain a lag before the output voltage changes.

For instance, for the LED to turn on, the input must rise above the upper threshold (e.g. 5V). But for it to turn off, it must go below the lower threshold (e.g. 4V).
