Leds in parallel usually fail. In real life the leds will not consume the same power as each other. When one led uses more power than the others, it heats up. When a led heats up, it consumes more power. This led is experiencing thermal runaway, and then failure. Then the next led will start its death cycle, but at a faster rate.

The solution is to place leds in series. This eliminates the unequal power consumption.
