If I wanted to build a real circuit like this, what do I use as the AC source?..

Dear Sine i think Osilator work as AC source.and may be simpel RC circuit

Ok, most oscillators will give you something looking more like a square wave though. If you use those instead, you have control of more parameters too! It's just, not easy to get a nice pretty sinusoid like this ya know?..
