How does a P MOSFET gets activated at zero volts ?? It requires negative Gate voltage to induce channel

Because there is a negative gate voltage, voltage is a potential difference, not a simple value http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5695158586179584 it works also with N mosfets. hope I helped you ;)

You are correct P-MOSFETS conduct when there is a negative voltage, what you missed is that the negative voltage is not between the gate and the ground (Vg) but it is between the gate and the source (Vgs). As I can see from your circuits Vgs is negative for both arrangement, so that's why the MOSFETs are conducting.
