Adjustable fade rate and brightness breathing LED

This circuit doesn't act quite like the actual build (I'm assuming it's because I have no idea how to set up the 2n2222 ) I've just started this stuff as a hobby, and thought it would be a neat twist on a common circuit ( the infamous blinking LED). I'm here to learn so any suggestions or criticism are welcome

There have been too many components just thrown together, breaking many of the possibilities of electronic circuits. I recommend that you get a basic electronic starters kit and start with simple circuits first, understand what is happening with them, and progress to the more complicated.
