Zener: On,1N5350 5W 13V. LED: CREE,XHGAWT-00-0000-00000HXE1. Cap: KEMET,R463R447000M2M POLY FILM EMI type. Bridge: Fairchild,MB4S. Electolytic: Nichicon,UPW1J471MHD
I had to Redo this circuit because when the switch closed while voltage was non-zero a current spike happened that killed the LED's, this version still needs verified but looks like it may not smoke.
Both Zener keep peak voltage bellow 26V should a string fail.
MB4S max Surge current is 35A. The resistor must limit the surge to less than that. The 10 Ohm should limit the surge to 17A and will dissipate .3W. The bride will dissipate .24W.
The LEDs are running at 23.3Vrms and 170mArms, and thus use 4W of power and give 600 lumens.
Electrolytic capacitor has 200mA ripple at startup, which is well within the UPW1J471MHD rating. I suggest using one with 63V rating.
