I think the circuit you wish to create would be complete by grounding the AC voltage source.

@fatcat2, can you have a common ground for DC and AC in this circuit? Thank you in advance for the answer.

No problem; yes we can have a common ground for AC and DC in EC. But practically speaking, it is not a good idea to meddle with high voltage AC and DC; I have practical experience. I had made a ZVS flyback driver, I connected the 20kV AC to the common circuit ground. Sparks were flying across all the components and I got a damn shock when I touched ye DC rail. Anyway, we should ground all the sources for EC to run.

Another method that I use for EC simulation is to ground AC sources via a 1G ohm resistor. Here, the peak voltage is 1V, not a problem at all.

you need "ground" as zero volt reference for simulation. Compomemts without any reference can not be simulated, actually everycircuit could do, you wont understand the resulting voltages, cuz the reference is missing! So components in grey are taken out of simulation, they are not present !!
