I have put together this circuit as information for some of our newer members, to try to impress on them that Transformers are devices, used to multiply or divide one AC voltage level to another, if a DC voltage placed across a transformer winding, it would see little resistance and would possibily be short circuit by it. Basically with AC, ignoring copper/iron losses, if the transformer output voltage is double the input voltage, the output current would be half the current of the input current.
