This circuit shows the time it takes for the capacitor to load up: press the left button and see it go up to almost 9V. It took about 3 seconds (make sure to set the timer of your sim to 1s!).
Note: I tried to do this on a real breadboard, but couldn't get the same values. Now with this sim, it works like a charm.
