Efficient boost converter for 12V LED strip scraps

In this highly efficient circuit, a timer 555 generates a control signal for the switching npn transistor. The circuit produces constant power over a wide range of supply voltages (tested 3-7V) due to LED, connected to Ctrl pin of timer. As a result the generation frequency increases with increasing supply voltage, and the pulse duration decreases.

A switch connected to the Reset pin provides soft shutdown.
