Check one of my circuit called " Advanced Light Scroll Led Effect constructed from almost nothing" it is what ur nixies dream about It gives possibility to drive a 2 or 3 nixies by single sinusoidal voltage and uses for this nice feature of bjt transistor to act as window comparator and require for this only few resistors of the same value.
