New to electronics, hope to get some feedback on this circuit. I have a photo resistor, the less light it receives the greater the resistance. I needed the opposite, in attempt to make the led turn brighter the darker it is outside. EC doesn't seem to have photoresistors, so I used a regular resistor to mimic it, tweak the resistance of 257 ohm resistor to mimic the change of light received.

Your circuit should work, the darker it is, the higher resistance you have hence more voltage on your voltage decided, which will increase your ib so will increase your ic (brighter led)

At 3.17Ω the led blows.
