Isn't this triggered ring counter called a "shift register" actually???

A ring counter is a type of shift register, but a shift register by itself is not a ring counter. This particular is example is a Johnson Counter (or Möbius Counter, and @tpfohl did an excellent job with it.

My only complaint is the high values on the limiting resistors. We'd be able to see the LEDs a little better if they were 150 or 220, but at least they aren't blowing up like in many peoples circuits around here.

Great job! I have emailed the developer asking them to add flip flops to the part library. It's really annoying to have to build them each time. It might be helpful if you also send them that request.

Resistors are now 200 Ohm. I forgot about the LEDs while watching the oscilloscope.

Yeah, judging by the lack of other simple components and the lack of any responses from the devs, I'm not going to hold my breath. However, them being busy trying to launch the iOS app could have been part of it. Plus the more people who ask only sends a stronger message.
