Seems to occasionally switch one sim tick too fast or too slow, which is interesting. Maybe the EC devs were playing around a little bit with on-the-fly varying sim speeds (varying simulation ticks per wall clock second, not varying simulation seconds per wall clock second) and forgot to remove their experimental work fully?

Normally the sim speed is fixed at 20 ticks/s (although that can be increased by putting down a frequency source and then increasing the sim speed, in this case that should bump it up to about 60 ticks/s) but there’s no reason it should skip or add an extra tick randomly like it appears to be doing.

Hmm, upon further observation it seems limited to the first few seconds of simulation. It doesn’t seem to happen after that even if I wait a about a minute.
