In reality you'd want to use a larger cap than 1uF but everycircuit crashes when I run it with anything bigger.

I have emailed the developer personally regarding several matters :) weve worked together on XDA dev community a few times - so collaboration is inevitable. Feedback amongst other things will be attended to

It crashes because you have no resistance between the cap and ground. Add a resistor.
