Demonstration of a simple technique to generate a relatively constant current source regardless in voltage source variations. The circuit on the left (green current) uses diode connected transistors to form a constant 0.6 volt drop across the emitter resistor regardless of VCC variations. The circuit on the right is a resistor biased current source (blue current). You can see that its output current varies significantly with variations in vcc
