Specifically a pre-amp.

Very good, it's very linear, i measures a THD of 0.016% at a gain of 10. That's a very good value for a discrete voltage amplifier.

I'd add a slight recommendation though, it's good to try and restrict high frequency signals all the way from the input, to minimize intermodulation distortion. You can do so by separating the input with a resistor of a few kohms in series with the input capacitor, and then add a 100pF cap, in parallel to the 100kohm resistor at the input. This way you lead out the higher frequencies all the way from the input.

Thanks thebugger. I've added the high frequency restrictive components, thanks for the tip! I'm gonna use this as a pre-amp for a 100W (integrated) audio amplifier I'm working on as a school project.

It's good to see enthusiasm, but i recommend a simple low noise op amp as a preamp. LT1115 for example.
