A workspace for my distortion pedal experiments
This example features 3 operational amplifiers, representing the TL-072, one of my favorites.
The first amplifier features R_i = 500 ohms and R_f = 4k ohms, making the gain equal to:
Av = (1 + (R_f / R_i))
which is 9 .
The second amplifier is also a non-inverting amplifier, but the R_f value is reduced to 1k ohms, making Av = 3.
The last amplifier is an inverting amplifier with R_i = 1k ohms and R_f = 4k ohms.
The gain equation for inverting amplifiers is:
Av = -(R_f / R_i)
So it is -8 for the final stage.
Additionally, note the presence of diodes across the feedback loop on Op-Amps 1 and 3. Can you see how they affect the output waveforms?
Are any of these Op-Amps in saturation?
V_cc = 15V, V_ee = -15V
Input voltage is set to 500 mV peak
