These examples used a compensating resistor but the explanation for its purpose wasn't clear to me. Its value is the parallel value of Ri and Rf. Can anyone clear up the purpose of this resitor?
I added the switch to toggle the path to ground between Rc and straight to ground without needing to rebuild the circuit.
