Bro, you need to properly adjust the signal generator or, in this case, the AC generator. Set the frequency to 60 hertz to match the public grid frequency and set the amplitude to 230 volts. With this, you can see that the device works very well. Also, you need to replace the capacitor; it currently has an electrolytic one, but it needs a ceramic one or, in this case, one without polarity. So, change it to one of the same value, and it should work fine. I noticed that the Zener diode is there to prevent the voltage from exceeding 16 volts, but even so, if it reaches 16 volts, the lights might burn out. But anyway, it's more than adequate for protection.
