In ac we supposed to connect loads in parallel from source for getting similar Vrms to run different loads. If we connect loads in series the voltage drop will not allow us to run the loads. However, the ammeter should be connected in series to the load to read the value of current, but the voltmeter should be connected in parallel to the load to read the value of voltage.
