Push the button, it cycles through 4 LEDs as a shift register from a bicounter.

Hi Volte, you know this is a binary counter plus an encoder to emulate one mode of a real shift register. One mode, because this "register" can only emulate one active bit moving. A real shift register, like it e.g. would be needed for an RS232 transceiver, would need all binary combinations of bit patters to shift. Check how you can do a real 8 bit shift register with ECs counters http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5414330459750400 have fun!
