Arduino PWM to voltage with Lowpass

The OpAmp integrates the PWM signal to a control voltage. Generator on the left simulates the PWM output pin of the Arduino. Try to change the pulse width of the generator in order to dim the lamp.

Perhaps I am missing something, but that NMOS is going to get hot, so why not have it PWM the light and ditch the low pass filter.

The light is only a placeholder for a load. This is to control a PSU without ripple.
