Transformator

The layout to this is bad... Also this isn't really acting as a transformer, you need to check your wiring. The only reason the light is lighting is because you have the power source supplying a dc voltage of 3 volts. The way the transformer is wired now is in a way so that it is just two inductors in series. Because of that the ac is being blocked. The point of a transformer is to transfer ac voltages from the primary to the secondary at a higher, lower, or the same voltage(know as isolation transformer) so what you need to do is turn the transformer, the bottom of the primary needs to be connected to ground, then the bottoms of the secondary needs to be connected to ground as well. This will act as a transformer. It's set as a 1:10 like this, so you can play with the ratio from here.
