10H inductor? How much larger should it be?

Yes, usually you can found schemas that use from 2 to 8 Henry, in amplifiers or old radio. Here I simulated 10 H because I'm building a tube tester (project comes from an old Italian magazine, 1964) but I can find only 10 H or more on site like this http://www.enovaz.com/induttanze.html.

Keep in mind, in those years there were no any other active component used to filter and stabilize power supplier

Keep in mind, in those years there were no 226V peak voltage. It was and is also today 311V or 325V. And 16uF together with 10H are nicely ringing and needs dampening with about 1.5kOhm serial resistance.

Keep in mind I already know what you say without your help hurz, 220 vpp are 160 vrms and is exactly what I need in that time. About ringing, I do not need because the particular use of the instrument I was building. In other my exercise I use it (http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5928945910284288)

Consumes too much power, not suitable for commercial applications!

Who cares, I can write anything and all I need to do is create a little doubt in the minds of users that visit these stupid circuits and they’ll make up their own minds.
