It does demonstrate the AND function. However, you’ve reduced the logic supply from 5V to 2.2V so you don’t burn the LED. Why not leave the logic supply alone and design the circuit more realistically with a current limiting resistor?

I did that because it uses less components.

But it doesn’t help you, or anyone else, if you want to build a real circuit. If you’re happy with that, no problem - for you.

Well in real life it would cost a few cents less because you wouldn’t need a resistor
