Not really sure why, but i made mine different than yours. The and gate current goes up significantly on the first switch... mine didn't. Are you trying to just use one type of transistor?

I like using bipolar transistors. I use those in really life. I like simplifying the logical ics, because they use lots of logical ics in complex circuits. It's really not suppose to go use on the first "AND" input, it's the basic version. I'll look at yours again. Thanks!

Oh, you use the collector of the NPNT connected the the negative source and 2 inverted functions in your "AND" Gate, that's really the better "AND" Gate.
