Top drawing is paddle shaped wood board the tester is mounted on.
A brass strip at left end makes contact with electric fence wire. A hole is drilled through the paddle to let brass chain a few feet long make contact with the ground.
To use. Hold wood paddle by handle (board needs to be dry, not wet) and make connection between ground and electric fence wire. If working, you see flash of neon bulb as fence charger pulses.
