NE-555 Internal Schematic

Internal schematic of a well known integrated circuit; commonly known as the 555 timer. 22x Bipolar Junction Transistors (NPN & PNP) 18x Assorted Resistors 2x Diodes Information gleaned from various sources online, and a thin paperback book titled, "The 555 Timer And It's Applications" by M.C. Sharma. -------------------------------------------------------------- For reference purposes only. It's probably useless in terms of simulation. Not that I doubt it will work. Mainly because it takes up the whole damn canvas (thanks to the software's surface-area greedy components). Aesthetically, it's not great either. The software's got a mind of its own, and some stupid ideas about the clearest path between two nodes. I did my best, and tried to draw/manipulate the traces manually, but can't seem to override the autocorrect feature. I've tried contacting the developers a bunch of times with requests and suggestions, but I get the feeling they've abandoned development.

Packed: http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6525381852266496 . I've made enough room for 10 or so more components. I could do this for a job, I think. ;) It's a matter of experience I think, a cultivated intuition for what the pathfinder is likely to do.

@eekee I considered doing that but I tried to balance space and clarity. It's a mess. There's a lot about the software that I like. This is just one of the areas where it falls short.

Also you might notice I sometimes use SPST switches in an attempt to manipulate the traces, and draw lines where they simply wont go otherwise. In this case it was to group all the pins together, instead of terminating in the middle of the diagram.

So you can omit that component to save space. Plus, I'm pretty sure it will work without the diodes. Some older schematics I've come across omit them altogether.

One more thing. I notice the circuit seems active, even without a power source, or injecting noise. So thats weird. I guess it's a bug.
