Analog to 0-4 digit 7 segment conversion

Used 11 logic gates and 4 op amps as comparators. It was fun and challenging to make this.

I had a rental car were the gasoline and motor temperatur just had 8 bars each. I found out they show 8 bars for a full tank, but next the bars drop to 6! And no surprise from 6 to 4. 4 to 2 and empty no bars. All this controled by a computer ! The point is, most people do accept this rough display resolution. I'm sure the sensor gives back 8 bit 256 steps information, but most people are happy with just 5 out of 256 😁
