Actually very complicated and big circuit. At least two transistors u should remove. One is enough for simple latch. SAVE POOR TRANSISTORS!!! Non profit organization po-box 00-007 Santa claus mountain uranus. Donate!!! Our Commonwealth will reward it.

Actually, the practical circuit works with one momentary switch. Press it quickly turns it on. Press again, and hold for about two seconds. This provides a lower resistance path through the emitter of transistor 3. The current to the base of the pull down transistor is removed, shutting off the pnp pass transistor, and alliwing the cap to discharge. The circuit is then de-energized.
