The most simple way of self trigger of bifilar inductor as a boost converter with no IC controller pulse gen, only with a op amp 741, pot preset 30~60% Duty cycle. 2x2uf (value) capacitors must be matched with coil resonance... Push button I don't know if it is needed for the real circuit here is to activate the triggering.
