this is a little misleading, cuz you do not double with every stage. Correct is, you have two stages while the first stage is a peak to peak detector and the sedond stage is adding the same peak to peak voltage. Peak to peak is 20V and 20V plus 20V are 40V if you add a third stage you will add another 20V and get !60V! and not what you probably expect 80V! Conclusion, it would be more correct to call this circuit a voltage adder. With every stage you add the initial peak to peak voltage and not multiplier!
