ASK is a form of modulation, which represents digital data of variation in the amplitude of the carrier wave. When the modulating signal (low frequency) is at a positive peak, it represents logic 1 and presence of the carrier. Logic 0 is represented by a negative modulating peak, thus blocking off any carrier signals from passing through.
