Simulating 220vac double pull single throw power supply. Veritable voltage adjuster, DC Rectifier, and choke. Now trying to introduce an easy start circuit that will start the arc at full power then automatically switch to adjusted heat level

Before you continue on complicated things, you should start in understanding the basics and see what the correct peak voltage is for a 220V rms AC source.

Yes, I also think so, tipp: a DC source with 220V gives you more power then yours here with 220Vpeak. And the DC source is also 220V rms! Yours is about 156Vrms check wiki for this topic.

Were is your first comment?

So, north america uses 220 volt center tapped transformers at the customers house. To simulate a double pole 220 volt breaker for your welding circuit just use a single 311 volt peak to peak ac supply.

As for simulating an SCR you could use two diodes in parallel facing opposite directions, and your choice of a switch to turn them on and off, simulating the gate pulse.

Correction, SCR just use a single diode with a switch for the gate pulse. TRIAC, use two diodes facing opposite directions with a switch to simulate the gate pulse.

Thanks hurz, for the bump in the right direction. And thanks piwarna for explaining the doubble pole 220 work arround

Nice hurz, but how would i calculate the primary induction on a MOT

With a scope and the known wire resistance by use of time constant, R and solve to L. I dont say thats easy and accurate, but I think its much better as model then this strange everycircuit motor model.

Yeah, this model isn't as practical as id like.

How would you like it?

Going to screw up with the grounding. This is a phase to phase center tap. Y'all done confused this dude. 👎

I wanted to simulate two separate 220v 50amp power supplies parralled with multiple MOTs. But i have no idea how to simulate the MOTs
