An electric bulb circuit can be used as humidifier or vaporizer in emergency. (Not shown), tripod or other stand with clamp to hold 6 inch broomstick for height adjustment with light socket to screw light into on one end. Submerge glass part of bulb into liquid in a pan and turn on. Size of lamp determines vaporization speed.

Use stand to hold light bulb upright. To idiot proof the world doesn't work. They always raise the bar on dumb.

Besides the fact that this is against all written and unwritten safety-rules ... in what kind of emergency would somebody need a vaporizer??

I was thinking of sick person or infant with breathing problems or lung problems. Adult may be able to take hot shower and breath in the steam. Not all persons in world live with access to doctors and health care. General safety, most appliances say not to submerge electrical part of devices in water washing them. Control of chemical drying time.

Why don't you use a lower voltage? If you would use i.e. 12V it would be way saver and it would work the same way. Of course you would need a matching bulp, but you could use some from a car's headlights. That way you could even change power of the vaporizer by switching from the lowbeam- to the highbeam-contact of the bulp.

The article l was looking at was for home use so the higher voltage was used. I was thinking for ill patients being cared for at home where a cloth tent was draped around bed would be most likely emergency use. Walmart is available for many and emergency use of lamp heating would be very rare.
