RLC - Smoothing

time constant RC = R * C ~= 2 ms time constant RL = L / R ~= 2 ms ripple period = 0.2 ms Because the time constants are much larger than the ripple period, smoothing (filtering) effect will be operative in both circuits. Despite having nearly identical smoothing effects, current flows are far from having comparable intensities (mA vs uA range, superposition principle quickly explains why). Yes, current intensity of the RL circuit could be reduced to match the value of the RC circuit, but this would increase the value of the inductance of about 200 times.
