Cutoff to Active to Saturation

Voltage source on right controls the operating mode of the transitor. Cutoff mode untill about 3.9 V, active until about 4.78 V, and saturation from there on.

Sorry to disturb you, just will like to ask how to calculate the cutoff mode and active mode to be 3.9V and 4.78V respectively
