This is a constant current source, perfect to test the functionallity of 0.02A LEDs. Old description (wrong): This is a circuit made for a project I build. I want to make an infrared LED flashlight. The problem is, that LEDs change their resistance, when you shine light on them. Infrared LEDs are even more sensitive. I burned 3 of them just by switching the light on. So, this circuit prevents it from burning.

1: connect an infrared LED to lab power supply 2: set the voltage that 0.02 A flow 3: shine light on it. Thats it.

I do not have the datasheet of the LEDs and I will not draw a graph of this just to satisfy your needs.

But you measured at least one point of the graph, as your statement is "LEDs change their resistance.... Infrared LEDs even more..." thats why you BURNED 3 of them. So the resistance must be very low. Give us at least one example measurement you did! No? Not even one measurement you made? You just made a statement, but you can not proof it? Troll!

I made the following measurement: 3 Infrared LEDs in series with 4,8 V = 20mA. When i shined light on them the Ampage increased over 300mA. I don't need more tests or burned LEDs to prove this.

4.8V at a 1.4V IR LED does not give 20mA. It will give more 300mA and will burn the LED. What a surprise, but this will independed happen form the environment light, and is stupid anyway!

Hm... Maybe my power supply showed the wrong value... Or I just used 1.6V infrared LEDs... My transistor tester sais they need 1.6V FV, so my power supply and the LED were correct. That means you are wrong.

Hehe, no I did not. LOL. Also, this works with other LEDs too if you have (nearly) the same wavelength shining on them. Try it for yourself if you dont belive me with that.

And again, you are saying a fact is wrong. Tell me: I connected 3 LEDs at a 4.8V power source. The Ampage way 0.02A. Now I shined light on them and the Current increased to 0.3A. Where does this current rise come from mr everyone else is wrong?

Yes, tell us all details which I already requested, so we can make our own measurements, as you do not want to. Im pretty sure you took phototransistors which just look like for you as LEDs. Shit happens, LOL

Hm... I don't know why I can see the IR light with a digital camera when it is a phototransistor. Try it: Take a LED, connect voltage that you get 0.02A of current. Then shine light on it (works better with the same wavelength) and watch the current flow.

And we have to trust you, thats the probelm, cause you are not open with any information. You try to hide as much as possible and never answer concret questions about part no. / schematics / etc. If IR LEDs are so sensitive, why do exist infrared IR detector diodes and IR phototransistors. You are unlogic und untrustful. Why have you made your phototransistor replacement setup made out of a darligton to amplify the very little current LEDs give under light conditions? Keep your unlogic stuff for you if you are not interessted to find any root cause of what you have made wrong. Only one more example. IR LEDs are sensitive to its own light and will decrease its resistance so much that they will destroy itself? Last try, what is the PartNo of IR LEDs you are using for this strange experiment?

There are different materials emitting the same wavelength. I use a Darlington IN ANOTHER CIRCUIT because different types of LEDs are not as sensitive as others. Also, I bought the LEDs from Amazon. I dont know the part number. They are normal 5mm LEDs with a wafelength of 940nm.

Dont you get it?! It did not only work work the IR one. It also worked with normal LEDs when I shined the same wafelength on it. You dont need to know which LED it was cause it worked with all types.

I took a random IR LED i found and applied 1.24V which results into 25mA (btw, why does it take so long for you to verify?). Any light, or keep it dark doen't change anything in current. Lets see what you get, and even more interessting what you Käseschachtel did wrong in your Initial stubborn trail. Why are you so slow and arrogant before you see your mistake. Sick.

You perfectly destroyed IR LEDs. It wasn't your fault, cause you are free of mistakes! The universe made a mistake and changed the law of physics and made IR LED to behave like Phototransistors, right!

I just made the experiment with green LEDs. It did not work with one of them. Then I connected 5 of them in series and sent 0.02A through them. As I shined light on it from an other green LED of the same type, the current draw jumped to 0.03A. Then I shined light on them from multiple green LEDs and the current jumped to 0.04A. But I did not get over 0.04A. Explain that in your geniousness!

There is not even a change in 1mA. Have a better current measurement tool and dont read the warmup digits of your 10mA resolution power supply. A few mV change of voltage does change the current drastical, but not the the photos coming to the LEDs. BTW, you are far away from 300mA. Conclusion, use a stable voltage supply and you will see no current change at all! This is just your imagination and fantasy.

Interessting how this "forward resistance drop effect by light" is getting lower and lower in effect every day. From 300mA/20mA which makes a factor of 15, we came to 40mA/20mA a factor of 2, now with a piece of paper the factor is so low you not even quantify and just said "it shrunk again".... LOL so if we contiune, when do you think the effect is gone to zero were it actually is. And all this ugly rude nasty childish yelling noise from you, just because you cant say, I was wrong with my statement, this effect does not exist! You cant stop like trolls cant stop trolling. Go head a measure it again lets see what the next level of "shrunk" will give us. Stubborn idiot, LOL

Du mit deinem dusseligem "verlieren".. Nö, wenn ich das Gefühl habe auf englisch nicht verstanden zu werden, dann schalte auf deutsch um, sofern ich bei dir davon ausgehen kann das du deutsch besser verstehst als english. Das ist alles weshalb ich umschalte in meiner Sprachwahl. Um verlieren oder gewinnen geht es nie, das habe ich dir auch schon probiert zu erklären, ist bei dir aber nicht angekommen wie es scheint.
