IGBT's are useful in high speed-high voltage switching, thanks to an isolated gate, we have the characteristics of a MOSFET with the high current capabilities of a BJT
Shows flywheel diode which is helpful in allowing reverse currents to not damage the device
New design, replaced parasitic transistor with flywheel diode, I like it better
