This is probably our favorite circuit. As the input voltage rises, the four columns of LEDs light up from left to right. Current limiting resistors fine-tune the ignition time. This circuit can be used as a cool looking voltage level indicator.

Some of your LED's are over powered and blowing. And also LED's work best With a DC voltage source because LED's only let current through in one direction.
