I need to implement automatic gain control to this circuit using a JFET. Can anyone help me?

You need to amplify your current. Use a class AB amplifier instead. There are lots of examples of this type of amplifier on EC if you search for them. I believe Hurz has a good example for you in his published library. This should get you the results you want.

Here's what you gotta do to modify this to work with 8ohm. Instead of the most right transistor you must add a darlington pair (PNP/NPN modification) to increase the gain the transistors can supply. Also decrease the 100ohm resistor to 8ohm to provide a matched return path for when the capacitor discharges. Also the output cap must be at least 1mF not 1uF
